From Street Cat to Safe Haven Ernest Ernest was a gentle stray who wandered from doorstep to doorstep, winning hearts and accepting food from kind strangers... until one day, he was hit by a car. Ernest was left with a fractured femur and a dislocated pelvis. Thankfully, one of his regular feeders stepped in and rushed him to the vet. That act of kindness saved his life. His injuries were serious and required complex surgery, with pins and screws needed to hold him together as he healed. Yorkshire Cat Rescue paid for the surgery and cared for him during his 8 long weeks of recovery. During that time, one follower on social media couldn’t get him out of her heart. She waited... and when the time came, she met him in person - and it was love at first sight. Now in his forever home, Ernest is surrounded by love and care. His adopter has even adapted her home to protect his healing legs, so he can’t jump or run too fast just yet, making sure he stays safe as his body finishes mending. Manage Cookie Preferences
