Why volunteer

Give a little, gain a lot

At Yorkshire Cat Rescue, we understand that people volunteer for many reasons. Whether you want to give something back to the community, make a difference in the lives of cats, or build on your existing skills, volunteering is a rewarding experience. By giving your time and energy, you will not only help improve the lives of cats and kittens but also gain valuable personal and professional rewards.

Benefits of Volunteering:

  • Boost Your CV & Career Prospects: Volunteering can be a fantastic way to gain new skills, experience, and knowledge. It’s a great addition to your CV, and can even help you stand out to potential employers.
  • Increase Your Confidence & Independence: The variety of tasks and challenges you’ll face will help you grow both personally and professionally.
  • Make New Friends: Volunteering is a great way to meet new people who share your passion for animals and charity work.
  • Learn New Skills: Whether you’re helping with administration, events, cat care, or shop duties, volunteering offers a wealth of learning opportunities.

Why Volunteers Are Vital to Yorkshire Cat Rescue

As a charity, we depend on the generosity of our volunteers to help us carry out our lifesaving work. Volunteers play an essential role in nearly every aspect of what we do at Yorkshire Cat Rescue. Without volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to help as many cats and kittens find loving forever homes.

Volunteers help in many areas, including:

  • Caring for Cats & Kittens: Giving extra attention to the cats waiting for adoption and ensuring their well-being.
  • Raising Funds: Assisting at events or in our charity shops to raise the money needed to support our mission.
  • Supporting Our Team: Helping with administrative tasks, manning phones, driving, or assisting at the centre to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Keeping the Centre Welcoming: Volunteers help ensure that our centre is a friendly, safe, and attractive place for visitors and potential adopters.

Every role is essential, and every volunteer makes a significant contribution to the success of Yorkshire Cat Rescue.
