Meet CJ – An elderly gentleman in Need of Your Support

CJ is a beautiful 18-year-old ginger and white gentleman who found his way to us just before Christmas after being discovered wandering in a very poor state. Thanks to quick action, he was taken straight to the vets and given the care he so clearly needed.

He is partially blind and deaf, and he is living with chronic kidney disease alongside unexplained anaemia. Despite further tests, the cause of his anaemia remains unclear. It may be linked to his kidney disease having gone untreated for a long time, or it could be something more serious, such as lymphoma. Given CJ’s age and overall health, we have made the kindest decision not to put him through invasive investigations or stressful procedures.

CJ’s prognosis is guarded, but what matters most now is comfort, stability and kindness.

He is safe with us, warm and well cared for, and will remain in long-term foster care where his needs can be closely supported. He may not see or hear the world clearly anymore, but he still enjoys gentle company, familiar routines and the quiet reassurance of being loved.

CJ’s story is now about quality of life, dignity and peace and we are honoured to be part of his journey.

Thank you, as always, for making it possible for cats like CJ to receive the care and compassion they deserve in their twilight years.
