We have the saddest of news to report to all our followers.

Spud our Charity Mascot passed away suddenly this week. He was found sleeping in his tower in the garden after watching the birds (sky aliens) and passed in his sleep.

He was rushed to the vets when found but unfortunately they confirmed he had passed away. The vet suspects it’s was his heart and he drifted over to Rainbow Bridge in his sleep. There had previously been no signs of illness but we know sometimes these things just happen.

Lynn and Pete are both devastated as you would imagine but they are both grateful he passed in his favourite place as I’m sure all his followers are too. He was hand reared by Lynn our CEO and has been part of her family ever since.

He won the hearts of people all over the world with his cheeky antics and stories on his social media page. Spud has raised tremendous awareness for YCR and helped us to raise much needed supplies and funds through his page. In his short life he has helped many people with their mental health and day to day struggles they face in life.

This news comes as a shock to everyone and we know many of you like us will be just as devastated as Lynn & Pete, so please take care of yourselves at this difficult time ❤️

Due to this sad news our Paws for Tea & Cake weekend event will be cancelled and all ticket money will be refunded over the next few days. Please be patient with enquiries as our team are trying to hold everything it together at our centre as Lynn will need some time away.

Spud Hurricane Nicholls.... You certainly lived up to your name. You were loved beyond all measure by people all over the world because of the joy you brought everyone. You were one very special ickle boy, your life mattered so much and you will forever be a YCR baby.
